A brilliant synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping on moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera. Bot & Dolly produced this work to serve as both an artistic statement and technical demonstration. It is the culmination of multiple technologies, including large scale robotics, projection mapping, and software engineering.

Unfortunately we’re already back from our little burger-shopping-marathon to Minneapolis, Mount Rushmore and Chicago. As we mark the places with a cross on our worldmap and are happy about a further stamp in our passports, you can download the diecut-sheet of the Jobot, build your own one and send us pictures of it in front of famous landmarks. Diecut-sheets for free this way. Stickerpacks available at ChickenOrBeef.de.

AMERICAN WUNDERKIND JOEY GOEBEL
Bookmark and Share

Joey GoebelBeing limited in the weight of luggage, it’s always pretty hard to make the right selection of books for traveling. E-books might be a convenient solution because you can store more “books” than you are able to read in the equally limited time of traveling. All things considered they don’t convey the warm feeling of real paper, the pleasent aroma of printing ink, the cozy noise of turning over pages, but most of all they are a visual shame for any serious typographer!
To survive the boring transatlantic flight to Quito/Ecuador I decided for “Vincent” (original title: “Torture the Artist”) by Kentucky-based and awarded novelist Joey Goebel who originally sang and played guitar for a punk band called The Mullets. Joey’s work is always characterized by vivid characters, distinctive irony and an unique style of writing which keeps you constantly turning the pages. Vincent is based on the idea that real creativity grows from emotional suffering and is about another wunderkind who has to experience that. Joey criticizes the hollowness and superficiality of modern media and entertainment and thematizes the idea of a new cultural renaissance.
As Joey told us, his fourth novel is set in an American high school in 1999 and will be published by Diogenes in March or April of 2013!
I’m looking forward to reading it!

WU IS JOHNNY BASTARD?
Bookmark and Share

Johnny Bastard is made of real flesh and blood! But he isn’t a member of the famous Wu Tang Clan. He even doesn’t have entered the first of 36 Chambers but he heard of this funny Wu Tang name generator via the pretty cool and relaunched Interview-Magazine and tried it out. This magazine was originally founded by Pop Artist Andy Warhol in 1969 and is art-directed by Mike Meiré in the german version. The current one features the King of (Art-)Pop Andy Warhol himself, Lana Del Rey and Chloë Sevigny. Very nice to read, but a bit too large in format for the backpack.
